Ground Transportation Field of Study - Korean Vocabulary

Land transportation in Korea has undergone impressive development from pre-modern times to the current time. In the beginning, Korea had a limited road network, however, the Japanese colonial era brought significant changes in transportation infrastructure, especially in the construction of railways.

Post-World War II recovery and economic development resulted in the expansion of highway and high-speed rail networks. The modern era brought advanced technology with common private transportation such as cars and motorcycles, as well as modern high-speed rail networks. However, challenges to accessibility in rural areas are still an issue, while Korea is committed to developing environmentally friendly transportation.

Through the development of land transportation, Korea is stepping towards a more connected and sustainable future.
